System Requirements

Use a server that meets these requirements:

  • A current 64-bit Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, CentOS, or Fedora release with systemd.
  • Root access for installation and recovery.
  • A stable hostname, working DNS, and a synchronized system clock.
  • Local storage for Engine, MySQL, logs, cache, backups, and media.
  • Network access to the X Acceleration release and license services.
  • Supported hardware, drivers, and device permissions when using Intel QSV or NVIDIA NVENC.

The installer checks the required runtime tools and can install missing packages with APT, DNF, or YUM. Engine is installed in /opt/xaccel-engine, its service is xaccel-engine.service, and installer activity is logged to /var/log/xaccel-engine-installer.log.
